About this Artwork:
As the artist began painting this piece, Jesus and Mary were painted first, with the intention of filling the scene with other typical Nativity elements: animals, angels, etc. But upon stepping back and taking in the painting, the impact of just Jesus and Mary in the light from Heaven was undeniable, and it felt right to leave the painting this way. There is something especially tender about Mary in this moment, particularly in the season of motherhood, and this painting serves as a beautiful reminder of this Incredible Love. Jesus, Emmanuel, God with Us.
