How to Repurpose Your Candle Jars This Year
In honor of Earth Day, it’s the perfect time to lean into small yet meaningful ways we can care for our planet. If you’re a candle lover, your empty candle jars hold endless potential beyond their final burn.

Instead of discarding your candles when they have burned to the bottom, reusing the vessel is a great way to embrace sustainability. Here’s how you can give your candle jars a second life:
How to Remove the Wax
Freeze the jar - Place the candle in the freezer for a few hours. The wax will shrink and easily pop out with a spoon or butter knife.
Remove the wick - Gently pry up the metal wick tab from the bottom of the jar.
Wash thoroughly - Clean the jar with warm, soapy water to remove any residual wax or fragrance oil.
Dry completely - Allow the vessel to air dry before repurposing.
Creative Ways to Reuse Your Candle Jars
Planters for small greenery - transform your jar into a little planter for succulents, herbs, or small houseplants.
Desk organization - use to hold pens, pencils, scissors, paperclips, tacks, etc.
Bathroom storage - use to hold cotton balls, cotton swabs, flossers, bath salts, or makeup brushes
Kitchen essentials - use to hold your spices, loose-leaf tea, sugar packets, or coffee pods. (They also make beautiful containers for layered baking mixes!)
Decorative vases - our 15oz matte jars are big enough to serve as lovely vases for fresh or dried flowers
Catch-all containers - place a repurposed jar by your entryway or bedside to hold keys, jewelry, or small everyday essentials
Pet treats - use to store dog or cat treats on your countertop
Before tossing your next empty candle jar, consider the possibilities! With a little freezing and creativity, these vessels can continue to bring functionality to your home long after they’re done burning.
Let’s celebrate the beauty of sustainability and take one small step toward a more eco-friendly future, one candle at a time.
