They say almost 40% of proposals happen between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. If that’s you, CONGRATULATIONS! This is such an exciting time and you should enjoy every minute of your engagement! As a current bride-to-be myself, I thought I could share with you some of my best tips for this busy season of life.
Soak up every minute of those just engaged feelings. Enjoy this time with your fiancé before all of the craziness that is wedding planning begins.
Celebrate by spoiling yourself with a few bride-to-be products. You already want to shout it from the rooftops, so why not carry around a Mrs. Travel or Coffee Mug, a Bride Makeup Bag and put your ring in a Ring Dish at the end of the day?
3. GET ORGANIZED
When the wedding planning does begin, get yourself a planner to go along with your wedding binder. Trust me, the more planning tools the merrier. Don’t forget a cute pen to go along with it all! I also love planning along with The Knot. They have a great timeline that keeps me on track!
4. UTILIZE YOUR COMMUNITY
Most cities have their own wedding teams. Maybe you even have a wedding blogger like we do here in Pittsburgh. Follow them! Join the Facebook groups! Gaining information through past + current brides in your city is such a time saver. They know all about the vendors you are interested in and have the best tips for your specific area.
5. STAY WITHIN YOUR BUDGET
A wedding is an absolutely beautiful thing and you should do it exactly how you envision, but it’s not a show and definitely not worth going into debt for. Choose what’s most important to you and focus on those areas the most. After all, the marriage that comes after is what really matters.
6. ENJOY IT!
This is one of, if not THE, most exciting time of your entire life. Have fun with the planning, don’t stress too much and all in all, spend this time with your fiancé dreaming up your future together. It’s going to be amazing!
