Being a working mom isn't easy and we all know how difficult it can be to balance all aspects of your life; having a career, being a mom, owning a home, being a wife, and of course self-care. How do you balance it all? I get asked this question often and this is my answer to you.
1. Meal PlanGrocery shopping and cooking can be very time consuming, especially when you are cooking for more than yourself! Each weekend I sit down and write out a menu for the week. Once my menu is finalized I write out my grocery list of items that are needed for the meals as well as household items that are needed for the week. Grocery shopping is usually not a worry of mine during the week since the majority of it is done before the work week begins! Since it's summer time I have been using our Palms Spiral Notebook when writing my lists!
Making time for yourself is always important! You need to take care of yourself in order to be able to take care of others. I know that it's almost impossible to find that extra time. Try setting your alarm an hour earlier than normal and go for a run in the morning or to an early yoga class. Ask a friend to meet for dinner one night during the week or meet for coffee in the morning before starting your work day. Run a hot bath before going to bed and burn our Eucalyptus + Spearmint Candle to let yourself de-stress and relax. All of these ways will help you get through your busy week in a less stressful way!
3. Manage Time Efficiently
We all know that managing time efficiently can be a struggle! It is so important to plan out every single day to use your time carefully and wisely since there are only so many hours in a day! You want to be able to accomplish all of your goals each day throughout the week as well as having time for just you and time as a family. Be sure to cherish every moment being a wife and mom as being a mom to young children doesn't last forever! My tip to you is to use a planner. I am unable to go a day without using my planner to guide me. If you are in the market for a new planner, then you will love our collection!
4. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
It's hard to not want to take on everything, but don't be afraid to ask for help! You can't do everything yourself and your husband is there to help with household chores and parenting too! If you are fortunate enough to have family nearby that love being grandparents or aunts and uncles, then take advantage of that! It is always good for you and the husband to have a break together even if it's for a quick dinner and drinks after work.
In conclusion, know that us working moms completely understand how hard it is, but just know that we are all in this together.
